MOUNT VERNON — Florence Rockwell, 96, of Riley Street, Mount Vernon, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon.

She was born Dec. 17, 1913, in Franklin County, Ohio, to the late James and Bertha (Williamson) Campbell. Florence was employed at Shellmar Products Corp. and at Leonard’s Market. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Knox County Chapter of the Ohio Eastern Star 236 and the Humane Society of the United States.

She is survived by her sister, Ruth Bope of Newark; two nephews and five nieces.

Besides her parents, Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Rockwell; her sister, Jane Myers; and her brothers-in-law, Edward Myers and John Bope.

Friends may call Saturday from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon. A graveside service will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
