UTICA — A funeral service for Patricia “Pat” Blackburn will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark, with Pastor Jill Street presiding. Interment will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends and relatives Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Blackburn, 66, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, at Newark Healthcare Centre. She was born Nov. 28, 1944, in Mount Vernon to her late parents, Noah and Peg (Webb) Owens. Pat enjoyed her 25 years as a teacher’s aide with North Fork School District. She will be remembered fondly by community members of all ages. Pat was also an active member of the Pentecostal Church in Utica.

Pat is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, John Blackburn. She was the loving mother of her sons, Robert (Julie) Potes of Newark and Wayne Blackburn of Utica; loving grandmother of Jacob, Brittney, Brad and Chloe Potes; also survived by sisters, Linda (Dan) McCormick of Newark, Shelby (Eugene) Griffitts of Newark; brother, Jim Owens of Newark; as well as nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her son, Brad Potes.

Memorial gifts, in Pat’s name, may be made to the Utica Emergency Squad.
