MOUNT VERNON — Larry D. Winegardner, 64, of Gilchrist Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010, at Knox Community Hospital.

He was born April 24, 1946, in Mount Vernon to the late Marion and Lillian (Graham) Winegardner. Larry was employed at Conrail and most recently as a truck driver. He was a member of the Sons of AMVETS Post 95 and the Colonial City Moose Lodge in Mount Vernon.

Larry is survived by his wife of over 17 years, Linda (Mizer) Winegardner; three sons, David (Cheryl) Winegardner of Warsaw, Nathan (Rachel) Winegardner of Howard and Jeffrey (Angie) Mizer of Fredericktown; three daughters, Laura Winegardner of Mount Vernon, Tika (John Masters) Valrance of Mount Vernon and Andria (Tom) Zachary of Georgia; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ruth (Randy) Allen and Jean Wright, both of Arizona.

Besides his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his first wife, Viletta Winegardner; and his brother, William Winegardner.

A memorial will be held Wednesday, Dec. 22, at the Howard United Methodist Church beginning at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Lee Cubie officiating. The family will observe a private burial in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery at a later date.
