MOUNT VERNON — Gladys E. Conant Robinson, 91, of Mount Vernon, passed away Thursday afternoon, Dec. 23, 2010, at the Country Club Retirement Campus in Mount Vernon.

She was born Jan. 18, 1919, in Fredericktown, a daughter of the late James S. and Mary E. (Parrish) Silliman.

Gladys is survived by her children, Kenneth (Carol) Conant, William (Candy) Conant and Chrystal (Roger) Rardin, all of Mount Vernon; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Mary Katherine Conant of Mount Vernon; and a sister-in-law, Marlene Silliman of Centerburg.

In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry Wallace Conant; her second husband, John E. Robinson; a son, Charles “Bud” Conant; a sister, Charlotte Bashore; and brothers, Chet Silliman, Stewart Silliman and Benton “Bill” Silliman.

The family will receive friends Monday, Dec. 27, from noon until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Chesterville.
