MOUNT VERNON — Charles Raymond “Sonny” Zollars, 70, died Monday, Dec. 27, 2010, at Knox Community Hospital.

He was born June 6, 1940, in Mount Vernon to Everett L. and Helen E. (Brumbaugh) Zollars. He was a member of the Eagles in Mount Vernon and the NRA, and also had an affiliation with the Killbuck Church of Christ. The most important things to him were his family, and his farm.

He is survived by his sons, Terry (Stephanie), Jerry (Pam) and Chris (Connie) Zollars, all of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Maggie, Tyler, Christopher, Colin and Terra; and a sister, Linda Hawkins of Killbuck.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ruthie Hedrick; and his former wife, Carolyn (Dial) Zollars.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, Dec. 29, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville with a memorial at 7 p.m. Brother Philip McMurrin will officiate. A graveside committal service will be held in Amity Cemetery on Thursday, Dec. 30, at 1 p.m. This information is online at www.fischerfuneralhome.com.
