GRAND JUNCTION, Mich. — Dolores McKenna, 81, formerly of Mount Vernon, Ohio, died Dec. 22, 2010, at home after a battle with cancer.

She was born May 22, 1929, in Harvey, Ill.

She is survived by six daughters, Linda Carson, Franciene Zimmer, Barbara Brazeau, Connie Brazeau, Monica Ballew and Jennifer Brazeau; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph Lorencz; and sister, Mary Ann Darst.

She was involved with Moundbuilders, other organizations in Mount Vernon and bookkeeper and tax business. She collected coats for Indian reservations and wrote ethnic cookbooks and a holistic book on herbs and health.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sherry Castillo; two husbands; and both parents.

She donated her body to science and is being cremated.
