TAMPA, Fla. — Kelly Jean Ward Lancaster, 38, of Tampa, Fla., passed away in her sleep on Dec. 25, 2010, in Fort Myers, Fla., due to complications of Kearns-Sayre Syndrome.
She was born Jan. 21, 1972, in Kenmore, N.Y., and grew up in Canal Fulton, Ohio. She was an avid scrapbooker and her creativity was evident in all that she did. She was a very active member of the Sheldon Road Baptist Church.
Kelly was the beloved wife of Kevin D. Lancaster for 17 years; and a devoted and loving mother to Joshua Alexander, 15, Emily Jean, 13, and Jacob Jeremiah, 11. She is also survived by her parents, Donald E. and Verna Jean Seals (Angie) Ward; grandparents, Norma Jean Ward of Barnesville, Ohio, and Ralph Seals of Somerville, Ohio; two brothers, Donald Scott Ward of Bonaire, Ga., and Jonathan Todd (Tina) Ward of Kensington, Ohio; nephews, Max Ward of Bonaire, Ga., Preston Ward and Clayton Ward of Kensington, Ohio; and many aunts, uncles and cousins who reside in Ohio, Colorado and New York.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Katherine Seals; and grandfather, Walter Ward.
Visitation will be held today, Dec. 30, from 7 to 9 p.m., with funeral service Friday, Dec. 31, at 10 a.m. at the Sheldon Road Baptist Church, 7208 Sheldon Road, Tampa, FL 33615.
