MOUNT VERNON — Glenda M. McClain, 54, of Stump Street, Mount Vernon, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010.

She was born Oct. 14, 1956, in Mount Vernon to the late Glen and Isabelle (Brooks) Blanton. She enjoyed camping and gardening. Glenda loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.

Glenda is survived by her son, Jim (Miki) McClain of Findlay; six grandchildren; and her three sisters, Dixie (Philip) Frye of Mount Vernon, Susan (Larry) Lester of Howard and Betty (John) Beach of Mount Vernon.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James McClain; her son, Samuel McClain; and her brother, Gary Blanton.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 5, in Workman Cemetery, near Danville, beginning at 11 a.m.

The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Glenda M. McClain.
