MOUNT VERNON — James A. Perone, 68, of Mount Vernon died Tuesday morning, Jan. 4, 2011, at Knox Community Hospital.
He was born on Dec. 11, 1942, in Zanesville, a son of the late Arthur and Nellie (Coon) Perone. James retired from Hi-San in Mount Vernon and he enjoyed working on models.
James is survived by his sons, James R. (Tabby) Perone of Thornville, Howard (Rae) Perone of Zanesville and George (Sherry) Perone of Mount Vernon; his daughter, Nellie (Shane Thompson) Hatfield of Mount Vernon; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Boyd of Coshocton; and a sister, Betty (Lloyd) Adkins Meadville of Pennsylvania.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his first wife, Luella Jean Perone; his second wife, Linda Perone; and a sister, Rita Searles.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 6, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon. A graveside service will be Friday, Jan. 7, at 1 p.m. in Mound View Cemetery.
