SUNBURY — Philip Edwin Gentile, 56, of Sunbury, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at St. Ann’s Hospital.

He was the son of Franklin J. Gentile and the late Elizabeth A. (Jones) Gentile. A fire protection engineer with XL Insurance, he served as president of the Porter/Kingston Fire District.

Survived by his wife, Lisa (Pratt); daughter, Ann (Jeff) Murdock; son, David (Regina) Gentile; grandson, Grayson Murdock; sisters, Margaret Kennedy, Cathy Zappia, Mary Gish; brothers, Peter and Paul; sister-in-law, Michelle Adkins; and many extended family members and friends.

Friends may call Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 11 a.m. at St. John Neumann Church, 9633 E. Ohio 37, Sunbury, with the Rev. Father James Wehner celebrant.
