AUBURNDALE, Fla. — Earl E. Sheets, of Florida and formerly of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, at the Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale, Fla.

He was born Oct. 9, 1918, in Clarksburg, W.Va., to the late Clarence and Lulu (Heflin) Sheets Sr. Earl touched the lives of all who knew him for his love of the Bible, his humor and the love of his family, especially his loving wife, Veronica (Cooper) Sheets, for over 62 years.

He is survived by three daughters, Kathryn (Mike) Hymore of Holiday, Fla., Vinda (Larry) Milless of Stevensville, Mont., and Teena (Ken) Lang of Mount Vernon; two sons, Charles (Ida) Sheets of New Port Richey, Fla., and Terry (Connie) Sheets of Fredericktown; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, James Sheets of El Paso, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clarence Sheets Jr. and Harry Sheets; and four sisters, Margaret Parry, Dorothy Fogg, Hazel Sheets and Lucille Shaw.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Jan. 11, at 11 a.m. at the Faith Baptist Church in Mount Vernon. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Earl E. Sheets.
