CENTERBURG — Ollie E. “Gene” Salyer, 58, of Centerburg, died Jan. 6, 2011.
He was born Dec. 19, 1952, in Columbus to Ollie F. and Verna (Pennington) Salyer of Galloway. He was an Army National Guard veteran; was a self-employed block mason, operated Salyer Masonry and owned C&G Edison Quick Stop.
Survived by wife, Cynthia (Pressler), whom he married Sept. 24, 1971; daughters, Michelle I. (Kevin) Kohler, Melinda J. (Jason) Gregg; five grandchildren; brother, Steve Salyer; sisters, Glenda “Sue” (Mike) Pfadt, Lora A. (Douglas) Johnson; father- and mother-in-law, Oliver and Dorothy Pressler of Columbus; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law; nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by infant son; grandson, Dustin; and infant twin brothers.
