MOUNT VERNON— Ronald D. Dupler, 75, of Mount Vernon, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at the Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.
Ronald was born June 10, 1935, at Rockbridge in Hocking County to Leroy and Geraldine (Later) Dupler, and had been a resident of the Mount Vernon area since 1965. He was a graduate of Rockbridge High School where he participated on the basketball team and earned “All Hocking County” honors Ronald served with the U.S. Air Force for four years and was retired as a measurement and regulation specialist from Columbia Gas Transmission after 33 years employment.
He was a Methodist by faith, was a member of Colonial City Moose Lodge and AMVETS Post 95 in Mount Vernon. Ronald had also served for 20 years with the College and Monroe Townships, Volunteer Fire Department.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Doris Joan (Fritz) Dupler; his son, Bruce Dupler of Mount Vernon; his daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Lee Black of Mount Vernon; two grandchildren, Amy Dupler and Troy Dupler; great-granddaughter, Reese Ferenbaugh; his brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Patty Dupler of Logan; and his sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Joe Clark of Lancaster.
Besides his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his twin brother Donald Dupler, brother Tom Dupler and infant brother Jerry Dupler.
Friends may call Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, from 5 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial with military honors by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
