UPPER ARLINGTON — Carolyn Ward Kaparos, 83, of Upper Arlington, passed away Jan. 5, 1911, peacefully at Hospice of Jacksonville, Fla.
Born June 18, 1927, in Mount Vernon, she was the daughter of Frances and Ralph Ward. She attended school in Mount Vernon and upon graduation enrolled at Ohio State University. Following school she joined Proctor and Gamble in Cincinnati as part of their Market Research team.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George N. Kaparos.
Her marriage of 58 years was blessed by their four sons, Nicholas (Metta), Ralph (Margie), Tom (Geri) and Jim (Kristi). Carolyn, never having had a brother, found her four sons a never ending source of delight, amazement and an education in sports. During this time in her life she served as Cub Scout Den Mother for more than a decade. She also worked and supported the Westside and Ohio Avenue day care centers. Later she became affiliated as a Realtor with Kent and HER companies. Carolyn also was a loyal supportive friend and volunteer with the Upper Arlington Library for many years.
As her sons grew, so did her family which includes her four dearly loved daughters-in-law which she shared a loving and caring relationship with “her Girls” and welcomed each grandchild they gave her with open arms, all 10: Alex, Andy, Cassy, Cole, Colin, Courtney, Elyse, Kyle, Nicholas, Samantha; and recently her great-grandchild, Hayden.
Carolyn enjoyed traveling extensively sharing trips with her husband, family and many wonderful lifelong friends. Carolyn is also survived by sister, Ruth Ellen Snow and Ruth’s family, Lucia, Ben and Peggy, Michael and Kay Snow. Carolyn shared her joy of life with many dear friends and will be missed by them all as well as by her dear loved family.
A family celebration of life is planned for a future date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257.
