SUNBURY — John W. “Johnnie” Shultz, 72, longtime Sunbury area horseman and trainer died Monday, Jan. 10, 2011, at Country View, Sunbury.
He was born June 11, 1938, in Delaware County to John W. and Esther (Frye) Shultz. He was in the U.S. Navy, then worked with the Galena Brick Co.
Survived by his girls, DellAnn Kuhn, Darla Gaskin, Melody George, Jona Baer, Kila Steck, Amber Hankins; son, Jimmy Zarley; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Joan Fuller, Jane Davis; sister-in-law, Bonnie Higgins.
Preceded in death by his parents; wife, A. Mardell (Wilcox); son, Ronald Williams; infant brother, John Jr.
Friends may call Monday from 4 to 8 p.m., with Masonic services at 8:30 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, where funeral service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow with military honors in Sunbury Memorial Park.
