SUNBURY — Otis E. Saunders, 88, of Sunbury, passed away Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011, at Country View of Sunbury.

He was born April 16, 1922, in Columbus to the late Otis W. and Florence (Carpenter) Saunders. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he worked for many years at the former Nestlé’s plant in Sunbury. He was a member of American Legion Post 457.

Survivors are a daughter, Cheryl Salyers; son, Jack E. Saunders; granddaughter, Christy R. Salyers of Centerburg; great-granddaughter, Laura Jean; sister, Beth Edwards; nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceded in death by grandson, Scott Bergandine; and his sister, Betty Geddis.

Friends may call Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m., prior to the 2 p.m. funeral, at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, with the Rev. Stephen Hielkema officiating. Burial will follow in Sunbury Memorial Park.
