MARTINSBURG — Mary Kathryn Bellaver, 78, of Martinsburg, passed away Monday afternoon, Jan. 17, 2011, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus surrounded by loved ones.

She was born March 6, 1932, in Mount Vernon, a daughter of the late William and Goldie (Adkinson) Bumpus. Mary attended the Owl Creek Baptist Church. She was an officer in the Pythian Sisters of Gambier and for many years she volunteered with the American Red Cross in Mount Vernon.

Mary is survived by her son, Buddy D. (Debbie) Fickes of Butler; daughters, Colleen K. Morris of Howard and Susan L. Yates of Bellville; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a brother, William Bumpus of Florida.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Bellaver; infant sons, Leonard and Michael Fickes; and brothers, Jack and Darrell Bumpus.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 20, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, where funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 21, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Patrick Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
