MOUNT VERNON — Leonard W. Whited, 68, of Columbus Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011, at The Laurels of Mount Vernon surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Jan. 25, 1942, in Grundy, Va., to the late Dale and Dorothy (Stiltner) Whited. Leonard served as warehouse manager for Mighty Distributing in Mount Vernon and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Henderson) Murphy Whited; two daughters, Debra (Rahn) Wilson of Mount Vernon and Denise (Carson) Haignere of Mount Vernon; a son, Leonard Dale Whited of Columbus; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; eight sisters, Faye (Damon) Armstrong of Marion, Ruby (Darrell) Morgan of Mansfield, Shirley (Leroy) Swihart of Fredericktown, Velda (Jim) Compton of Swords Creek, Va., Rosemary Wallace of Mount Vernon, Loretta (R. Harlan) Zolman of Mount Vernon, Lanna (Noah) Wallace of Crestline and Kay (Charlie) Irey of Crestline.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Beatrice Whited; a brother, Bill Whited; and a sister, Joyce Kissel.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 15 Taylor St., Mount Vernon, OH 43050. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Leonard W. Whited.
