MOUNT VERNON — Barbara “Barb” A. Laug, 54, passed away peacefully Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011, after a short illness.

She was born Oct. 28, 1956, in Mansfield to Donald F. and Ruth C. (Nusbaum) Laug. She was a graduate of Mansfield St. Peter’s High School and College of Mount Saint Joseph in Cincinnati. Barb retired from the Ohio Adult Parole Authority.

She is survived by her partner of 19 years, Diane Rice; mother, Ruth C. Laug; sisters, Deborah (Leonard) Kutney, Lyndia (Kendric) Whisler and Carla (David) Kulka; three nieces; one nephew; two great-nieces; and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Family and friends may visit Sunday, Jan. 23, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be in St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 104 W. First St., on Monday, Jan. 24, at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Catholic Relief Services or College of Mount Saint Joseph. Online guest registry at www.wappner.com.
