GROVEPORT — Matthew Andrew Tish, 38, of Groveport, passed away Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011.

Matthew was born and raised in Millersburg, son of Richard and Peggy Tish. Matthew graduated from West Holmes High School, class of 1991; DeVry, class of 1994; and later received a master’s degree from Keller Graduate School, class of 2006. Matthew most recently worked as a sub station technician for AEP and previously was employed for many years with Lucent Technologies. He was also an active member of Buckeye Christian Church. Matthew was a very responsible and sweet-natured man. Family was something that was most important to him, especially his two boys. He loved family reunions and valued the relationships he shared with both family and friends. He had a love for cars and spent much time working and repairing cars within a ministry through his church. Matthew will be deeply missed by his family, but he will forever be remembered and celebrated.

He will be missed by his loving wife of 10 years, Karen Tish; sons, Joseph and Jon Tish; parents, Richard and Peggy Tish; father- and mother-in-law, Jon and Marjorie Minard; siblings, Vickie (Tim) McDowell, Sam (Theresa) Tish, Joanna (Toby) Harris and Mary (Charles) Plant; and many other extended family members and dear friends.

A celebration of Matthew’s life will be held Tuesday, Jan. 25, at 4 p.m. at Schoedinger Grove City Chapel, 3920 Broadway, where family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until time of service. Pastor Stan Kirtlan will officiate.
