LANCASTER — Frank Dawson, 79, of Lancaster, went home to be with the Lord he has served for more than 50 years on Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Milly Dawson; children, Dave (Nancy) Dawson, Tacee (Mark) Puttick, Mike (Laurel) Dawson, Jed (Judi) Dawson, Jon (Tammy) Dawson, Matt (Lisa) Dawson; grandchildren, Eric (Bri) Dawson, Haley Dawson, Ryan Dawson, Sarah (John) Lozecki, Andrew Puttick, Will Dawson, Jack Dawson, Emily Dawson, Melinda Dawson, Ken Dawson, Adam Dawson, Jayna Dawson, Evan Dawson, Chase Dawson, Chandler Dawson, Madison Dawson; great-grandchildren, Jade Dawson, Gavin Dawson, James Lozecki; sisters, Alberta Ross and Grace Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Sophie Dawson; and his brother, Tom Dawson.
He was the retired senior pastor of Covenant Christian Church in Lancaster. He traveled extensively in Africa assisting pastors and establishing libraries. Frank was a poet, a birdwatcher, a woodcarver, king of the thrift store circuit, a finder of lost golf balls and of lost people. Frank’s greatest achievement was being a loving husband to a faithful wife. His greatest joy and legacy are his children, his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. Frank was a spiritual father to numerous men and women down through the years.
He will be sorely missed but never forgotten.
