MOUNT VERNON — Ruby G. Leibel, 98, of Mount Vernon, passed away Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, at Knox Community Hospital.

She was born Feb. 21, 1912, in Johnson County, Ky., to the late Roscoe and Virgie (Blanton) Gullett. Ruby retired after 13 years at The Alcove Restaurant and 17 years with the Mount Vernon Nazarene University Food Service. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by her sons, Charles (Grace) Leibel of Warren, Mich., Donald (Barbara) Leibel of St. Joseph, Mich.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her brother, Elmer (Ruth) Gullett of Howard; and two sisters, Neva Salyers of Dayton and Dixie Puckett of Greenwood, Ind.

Besides her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Leibel; her granddaughter, Patricia Leibel; four sisters, Jewel Roland, Maggie Williams, Sarah Gullett and Lexie Gullett; and her brother, J.D. Gullett.

Friends may call Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, beginning at 11 a.m., with Pastor Russ Gumm officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
