COLUMBUS — A funeral service for Irene M. Heller, 82, of Columbus, formerly of Utica, will be held Tuesday, Feb. 1, at 11 a.m. at Utica Presbyterian Church with Terry Holobaugh officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Columbus.

Irene died Jan. 29, 2011, at her residence. She was born Aug. 11, 1928, in Mount Gilead to the late Paul L. and Gertrude (Waterhouse) Halbert. She was a member of Utica Presbyterian Church and DAV Chapter 20, Glendale, Ariz.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bruce E. and Sharon Heller of Newark; daughters and sons-in-law, Terry Jo and Robert Hoover of Alexandria, Diana L. and Kenneth Peterson of Columbus, and Jackie E. and Hugh Allen of Rio Rancho, N.M.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, John D. and Shirley Halbert and Larry P. Halbert, all of Marion; and sister, Gwendolyn Mathias of Poland.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph M. Heller, who passed away May 3, 1990.
