MOUNT VERNON — Gertrude D. Hazlett, 95, of Mount Vernon, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at The Laurels of Mount Vernon.

She was born Dec. 25, 1915, in Mount Vernon, a daughter of the late Robert and Mable (Ute) Kent.

Gertrude is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert Hazlett; son, Dennis Roe of Lexington; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Ivan Kent of Utica and Franklin Kent of Walla Walla, Wash.; and sisters, Goldie Tharp and Ruth Mardis of Marion, Mary Kenney of Hamilton and Grace Clifford of Winamac, Ind.

In addition to her parents, Gertrude was preceded in death by sons, Robert and Larry Roe; daughters, Alice Harrington, Delores Bendure and Norma Jean Emmert; brothers, Calvin, William, Floyd and Clyde Kent; and sisters, Fannie and Florence.

Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family in Union Grove Cemetery near Gambier.
