DANVILLE — Ruth M. Clay, 85, of Nashville Road, Danville, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011, at Knox Community Hospital.

She was born Jan. 4, 1926, in Cleveland, to the late Roy and Beulah (Thomas) Childress. Ruth owned and operated the House of Ruth Nursing Home in Keene, Ohio.

She is survived by two sons, Jim (Sherry) Clay and David (Cathy) Clay, both of Deland, Fla.; two daughters, Dixie (Roy) Black of Danville and Ellen (Wayne) McRoberts of DeLeon Springs, Fla.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jim (Evelyn) Childress of Coshocton; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Hunt; a granddaughter, Crystal Maybrier; and a sister, Dixie Hegyi.

The family will observe a memorial service at a later date. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Ruth M. Clay.
