MOUNT VERNON — Barbara J. Morris, 61, of New Delaware Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Barb was born April 2, 1949, in Mount Vernon, to the late William and Betty (Stevens) O’Brien. She owned and operated Barb’s Diner on Columbus Road. Barb was a member of the Covenant Christian Church of God. She has touched the lives of many and will be sadly missed.
She is survived by her husband, Jay Morris, whom she married Aug. 27, 1966; a daughter, Teresa (Pat) Brate of Coshocton; two sons, Ronnie (Patty) Morris of Mount Vernon and Randy (Denise) Morris of Pinellas Park, Fla.; a brother, Gary (Julie) O’Brien of Mount Vernon; a sister, Nancy (John) Wolford of Mount Vernon; and canine companion, Coco.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Billy O’Brien.
Friends may call Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, where a funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Tim Overly will be officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
