FREDERICKTOWN — Mary K. Dalrymple, 92, of McClelland Road, Fredericktown, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at The Laurels of Mount Vernon.

She was born Dec. 4, 1918, in Mount Vernon to the late Albert and Effie (Balo) Dalrymple. Mary received her Bachelor of Science degree in education from Ashland College in 1960 and master’s degree in education from Colorado State College in 1966. She worked at Cooper Bessemer before retiring in 1981 after 25 years as a teacher in the Fredericktown school system. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Fredericktown and Knox County Retired Teachers Association. Mary enjoyed bowling, golf or a good game of cards. She served as a volunteer for the Red Cross of Knox County and Knox Community Hospital.

She is survived by many nieces, nephews and good friends.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by five brothers, Lloyd Dalrymple, Joe Dalrymple, Pete Dalrymple, Bob Dalrymple and Lawrence “Rusty” Dalrymple; and a sister, Beatrice Dalrymple.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 26, at 1 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Fredericktown. Pastor Michael W. Smith will be officiating. The family will observe a private graveside service.
