BULL SHOALS, Ark. — Lois Ann (McKenzie) Wood, 68, of Bull Shoals died Feb. 15, 2011.

She was born July 13, 1942, in Frostburg, Md., to Robert and Anna EsMerelda (Durr) McKenzie. She had a real love for animals. Most will remember Lois for her chickens, Crystal Mountain Fancies, a breed of prize show chickens Lois developed herself. Her pride and joy was a rooster, Silverado.

Surviving are two sons, Robert Michael Welch of Arkansas and Glenn Wallace Wood Jr. of Florida; a brother, Robert D. McKenzie of Mount Vernon; two grandchildren; a special friend, “Buck.” Preceded by parents; sister, Erna McKenzie Butter; and brother, Alvin L. “Bud” McKenzie.

The celebration of life will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Conner-Hankins Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Jonathan Belew officiating. Burial in Fairview Cemetery near Bull Shoals under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home, 2833 Highway 62 West, Mountain Home, AR 72653.
