TULSA, Okla. — Charles G. Awwiller, 75, formerly of Montgomery Road, Fredericktown, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011, at the Clarehouse in Tulsa, Okla.

He was born Aug. 15, 1935, in Knox County to the late Clarence and Estella (Gillespie) Awwiller. Charles was a 1953 graduate of Fredericktown High School, was an Eagle Scout and Scout Leader for many years, and loved woodworking and model airplanes. He was employed at General Motors in Mansfield as a journeyman, retiring with over 42 years of service. Charles was a member of the Fredericktown First Presbyterian Church, was a past worthy patron of the Ohio Eastern Star Ann Hill Chapter 9 of Fredericktown and a past member of the Fredericktown Thrall Masonic Lodge 170 F&AM.

He is survived by two daughters, Melanie (Dan) Webb of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Amy Kantor of Tulsa, Okla.; three sons, Craig (Stacy) Awwiller of Mount Vernon, Eric (Christine) Awwiller of Willoughby and Micah (Carmen) Awwiller of Howard; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Sue (Don) McFarland of Mount Vernon and Jane (Larry) McCarthy of Mount Vernon; two brothers, Neel (Barbara) Awwiller of Fredericktown and Larry (Carolyn) Awwiller of Bellville; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Joyce Awwiller.

Friends may call Friday, Feb. 25, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown.
