MOUNT GILEAD — Mildred Lucille Wilkinson, 82, of Mount Gilead, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011.
She was born Oct. 18, 1928, in Columbus, a daughter of the late Anthony and Incoronata (Melfi) Spiert. Mildred was a homemaker and a lifelong member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Mount Vernon. She also taught Sunday school over the years.
Mildred is survived by her husband, James Wilkinson; children, Terre (Dan) Allen of Pataskala, Howard Hunt Jr. of Mount Gilead, Denise (David) Tobin of Fredericktown, Gina (Dan) Monk of Hebron, Michael (Angie Johnson) Hunt of Mount Gilead and James (Melody) Wilkinson Jr. of Mount Gilead; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, Vincent and Tony (Marie) Spiert of Pataskala, and Arthur Spiert of Columbus; sisters, Ann Russell of Whitehall and Mary (Walter) Ulry of Groveport; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by brothers, Carmen, John, Nick, Richard and Joe Spiert; and a great-granddaughter, Hannah Tobin.
The family will receive friends Sunday, Feb. 20, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Apostolic Christian Church, 1635 Old Delaware Road, Mount Vernon, where a funeral service will be held Monday, Feb. 21, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Duane Kramer officiating. Burial will follow in the Rivercliff Cemetery in Mount Gilead.
