MANSFIELD — Theresia Echelle, 90, a survivor of the hostilities toward the “Donauschwaben,” died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011.
Born Nov. 20, 1920, in Karlsdorf, Austria-Hungary, to Kasper and Anna (Welder) Jegl. She worked with the Tappan Stove Co. and was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church
Survivors are son, Josef (Sandi) Echelle; daughters, Annemarie Echelle and Liselotte (Wayne) Burdette; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a niece and her family Ingrid and Tim Casler.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Franz Echelle
Her graveside funeral service will be Saturday, Feb. 26, at 11 a.m. in Lexington Cemetery. The Rev. Father Tony Borgia will officiate.
