BUTLER — Edward L. Gall, 85, of Butler, died March 1, 2011, at Lexington Court Care Center.

He was born Oct. 14, 1925, in Lorain. Ed enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1943, entered flight school, and earned his wings in 1945. He was in the Ohio Air National Guard, retiring in 1972; employed at BF Goodrich in Avon Lake, retiring in 1982.

Surviving are daughters, Jean Gall, Jo Ann Gall, Ruth Rueter; sons, Glenn Gall, John Gall, George Gall; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Preceded by wife, Mamie (Wray); parents, Louis and Kathe Gall; sister, Georgene Crobar; half sister, Margaret Gauman.

Memorial celebration service will be Saturday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 525 W. Cook Road, Mansfield. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. in the parlor, with the service at 11 a.m. The Rev. Dr. Pentti Maki will officiate, and military honors will follow at the church. As Edward’s final contribution, he bequeathed his body to OSU College of Medicine.
