BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —Charles M. “Mike” Rhodebeck, 63, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 27, 2011.
He was living in Birmingham, Ala., where he was employed by International Code Council, Evaluation Services.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Connie; and their sons, daughters-in-love and grandsons, Jason (Stacey), Andrew (Stephanie, Carter, Caleb), Christian (fiancée, Shawnee Barko), and Seth (Megan); also sisters, Bonny (Ron) Garland, Laura Joseph (Roger Gentile); and brother, Thomas Rhodebeck; two nieces and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Pauline Rhodebeck.
Mike served his country in the Army Reserves and the Ohio National Guard. He was a graduate of Westerville South High School (’66) and The Ohio State University (’70, civil engineering). Mike enjoyed teaching Sunday school, golfing (especially with his sons), being Grandpa, and cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a man of deep faith and inner strength and was valiant and uncomplaining in his lengthy battle with cancer.
A memorial service will be conducted by the Rev. Richard Ellsworth on Sunday, March 20, at 1:30 p.m., at Central College Presbyterian Church, 975 S. Sunbury Road, Westerville, Ohio, where a reception will follow.
