SUNBURY — Geneva Chapman, 89, of Sunbury, died March 3, 2011, at Country View of Sunbury.
She was born Jan. 26, 1922, in Flat Gap, Ky., to the late Powel and Ollie (Murry) Sparks. She had lived in the Olive Green area since 1944 coming from Flat Gap. Retired from the Nestles Co. in Sunbury with 30-plus years of service.
Survived by sons, Charles B. “Barney” Chapman Jr. of Logan, Bill Chapman of Sunbury, Tom Chapman of Marysville; stepdaughter, Arlene Menkel of Seattle, Wash.; 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Gusta Sparks, Flora Davis, both of Sunbury.
Preceded by husband, Charles B. Chapman; stepdaughters, Joyce Nutter, Noreen McMahon; brothers, Roy, Hollie “Hod,” Selcie and Richard Sparks; sisters, Inez Corwin, Ivel Conley.
Friends may call Sunday, 2-5 p.m., at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, where services will be held 11 a.m. Monday with Pastor Ken Mossor officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunbury Memorial Park.
