HOWARD — Josephine Veenhuis, 94, of Howard, died peacefully with family members at her side on March 11, 2011.

Josephine moved from Waupun, Wis., to live near her son, Robert, and his family after her husband’s death in 1989. Following declining health in 2009, Josephine lived with her son and daughter-in-law in Howard until her death.

She is survived by her son Robert (Elaine) Veenhuis; three granddaughters, Lori (Eric) Levengood, Janet (Jeff) Stutzman and Renee (Ken) Gentzler; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a sister, Florence (Ewald) Zurbuchen; two nieces; and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Garrett Veenhuis; a sister, Mary Alice Vant Hoff; and parents, John and Mattie Vant Hoff.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 19, at Trinity Reformed Church, Waupun, Wis. Friends and family may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Services will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Forest Mound Cemetery. The Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Mount Vernon assisted the family with local arrangements.
