MOUNT VERNON — Frederick E. Beutel, 90, of Yauger Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2011, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon.
He was born April 15, 1920, in Cincinnati to the late Frederick J. and Laura (Bushman) Beutel. Frederick served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired in 1969 after 21 years of employment as a purchasing manager for Procter and Gamble. Frederick was a member of the Fredericktown United Methodist Church.
He is survived by two sons, Tom (Wendy) Beutel of Fredericktown and John (Mary) Beutel of Fredericktown; eight grandchildren, David (Fujie) Beutel, Catherine Holmes, Kevin (Michelle) Beutel, Daniel Beutel, Adam (Erin) Beutel, Michelle (Michael) Aubrey, Keith Hackett and Michael (Rachel) Beutel; and seven great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Jane (Fall) Beutel; a great-grandson, Matthew Beutel; and a sister, Jean Traub.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 19, at 11 a.m. at the Fredericktown United Methodist Church, 123 Columbus Road, Fredericktown, where friends may call one hour prior. The Snyder Funeral Home of Fredericktown is honored to serve the family of Frederick E. Beutel.
