BELLVILLE — Violet Mae Parish, RN, 95, died Tuesday, March 15, 2011, in Colonial Manor, Loudonville.

She was born Oct. 16, 1915, in Carter County, Ky., to Thurston and Mary (Fannin) Erwin. She worked as a registered nurse with Shelby Hospital, retiring in 1981. Violet was a member of First Christian Church, Mansfield.

Survived by her son, Lendon “Sonny” (Kathryn) Parish; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two stepgranddaughters; three stepgreat-grandchildren; her sister, Pansy Greer; and half brother, Ollie Patrick.

Preceded in death by her husband, Fred L. Parish; daughter, Betty L. Philpott; grandson, Michael Philpott; and sister, Julia Hamilton.

Funeral service will be Friday, March 18, at 11 a.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home. Pastor Chris Whitehead will officiate. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, Shiloh. Friends may call the hour prior to the funeral.
