MOUNT VERNON — Beverly Jo Ann Madison, 75, of Mount Vernon, formerly of Coshocton, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011, at Knox Community Hospital.

She was born in Coshocton on April 12, 1935, to the late Garland and Winifred (Morgan) Fitzpatrick. On Feb. 2, 1969, she married Lewis Madison who passed away March 21, 1979. Jo Ann was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Indians fan, she enjoyed going to yard sales, traveling, listening to country music, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Jo Ann is survived by her children, Charles (Sharon) Shepard of Howard, Rick Shepard of Mount Vernon, Mary L. (Jerry) Shaw of Mount Vernon, Mike Shepard of Fredericktown, Tina (Steve) Eberwine of West Lafayette and adopted son, Winfield David Madison of West Virginia; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Darr Jacobs of Coshocton; brother, Carl (Sally) Horn of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; four stepchildren, Bill Madison of Coshocton, Winfield D. Madison of Kentucky, Wilma Madison of West Lafayette and Cowboy Madison of Coshocton; sister-in-law, Sue Darr of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews in Ohio and Florida.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Richard A. Darr and Gary L. Darr.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 22, at 1 p.m. with Lloyd Tenney officiating in the Chapel of Given-Dawson Funeral Home, 186 Park Ave., Coshocton. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
