MOUNT VERNON — Phillip R. Tucker, 48, of West High Street, Mount Vernon, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

He was born Jan. 13, 1963, in Newark to the late Clarence and Iris (Workman) Tucker. Phillip worked as a long haul truck driver, but his true love was farming.

He is survived by his stepmother, Phyllis Tucker; three brothers, Rick (Sally Whitt) Tucker of Mount Vernon, John (Kathy) Tucker of Mount Vernon and Dan (Beverly) Tucker of Smyrna, Tenn.; a sister, Rebecca Tucker of Mount Vernon; and a half brother, Walter Tucker of Mount Vernon.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Edwards.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 22, at 2 p.m. in Moreland Cemetery near Centerburg. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Phillip R. Tucker.
