HOWARD — Mildred Weitzel, 92, of Howard, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon.
She was born Dec. 4, 1918, in Summerset, Ohio, to the late Roy and Mabel (Baker) Snider. Mildred retired in 1983 from Lorain Products. She was a member of the Apple Valley Singles Club, Sew and Sews Club of Apple Valley and First Church of the Nazarene in Mount Vernon.
She is survived by her two sons, Phillip (Barbara) Bentz of Howard and Dennis (Christina) Bentz of Chandler, Ariz.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Cecil Dale (Maxine) Snider of Glenford; and two sisters, Verla Mae Gailez of Newark and Wanda (Allen) Gildow of Newark.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Bentz; second husband, Leon Weitzel; and a grandson, Franklin Bentz.
Friends may call Thursday, March 31, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon. A funeral service will be held Friday, April 1, at 1 p.m. at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home in Amherst, Ohio, where friends may call two hours prior. Burial will follow in Birmingham Cemetery.
