ST. LOUISVILLE — Jerry E. Brokaw, 66, of St. Louisville and formerly of Butler, died March 21, 2011, in County Court Nursing Center, Mount Vernon.

Born July 16, 1944, in Butler, he was the son of Harold and Bertha (Butler) Brokaw. Jerry worked 30 years as a chemist for AK Steel and was a member of United Steel Workers 169.

Surviving are his wife, Halene (Gleason) Brokaw, whom he married Sept. 19, 1963; son, Rick T. (Debi) Brokaw of Loudonville; daughters, Beth Ann Hayes of Mansfield, Jerri Lynn (Jeff) Bremer of St. Louisville; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy (Kenny) Barr of Bellville.

Besides his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by brothers, Dick and Tod Brokaw.

Friends may call Friday, 5-8 p.m., in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home where funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. Brother Roger Decker will officiate. Burial will follow in Zion Four Corners Cemetery.
