PROSPERITY, S.C. — James “Bud” Frederick Bales, 55, of Prosperity, S.C., and formerly of Mount Vernon, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2011.
He was born Oct. 24, 1955, in Mount Vernon to Harry F. and Minnie (Dotson) Bales Sr. Mr. Bales retired after 35 years of employment as a mail carrier with the United States Postal Service. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers Union and Woodmen of the World. Mr. Bales was a loving father and husband who loved his family and the Lord. He also loved fishing and was an avid animal lover.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy Davis Bales; children, Timothy (Tania) Bales of Lewis Center, Hughie (Lori) Bales of Mount Vernon, Adam (Michelle) Bales of Mount Vernon and Alex Bales of Irmo, S.C.; stepchildren, Matthew Davis Wilson, Jason Davis Huber and Trey Davis Huber, all of Prosperity, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; his father; two brothers, Harry (Gabrielle) Bales Jr. of Brandon and Charles Bales of Florida; a sister, Joyce (Coby) Pfouts of Mount Vernon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother; and a nephew, Ronnie Bales.
The family will be holding services in South Carolina. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of James “Bud” Frederick Bales.
