MOUNT VERNON — Robert D. Hazlett, 87, of Mount Vernon died on Monday, April 4, 2011, at his home.

He was born April 6, 1923, in Marion, son of the late John and Maude (Maine) Hazlett. Robert was a Navy veteran of World War II and retired from Flxible in Loudonville. He was a member of the American Legion in Danville, a lifetime member of the VFW in Mount Vernon and the Steel Workers Local 4781.

Robert is survived by a son, Dennis Roe of Mount Vernon; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a brother, Ralph Hazlett of Marion; a sister, Maxine Littleton of Marion; a nephew, Pat Kelly; and a niece, Diane Crenshaw.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude (Kent) Hazlett; brother, Don Hazlett; and sisters, Hazel Hoffman, Gladys Kelley and Ella Massey.

Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family in Union Grove Cemetery near Gambier.
