CENTERBURG — Ronald Sherman, 91, of Centerburg, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville following a long illness.

Ron was born in Porter Township, Delaware County, on July 21, 1919, to Mabel (Carnes) and Mort Sherman. He was a 1937 graduate of Centerburg High School. He farmed all of his life at home in Porter Township where he was born. In addition to working for Nestle Co. in Sunbury, where he retired after 25 years of service, he loved being with his grandsons working the land (even early on with a team of horses), and raising his Hereford cattle.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Willis); son, Jim and wife, Denise, and grandsons, Bob and Tom, all of Centerburg; daughter, Susan of the home; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Gordon and Maynard; and an infant son.

Friends may call Saturday, April 9, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Johnson-Melick-Moreland Funeral Home, 49 W. Church St., Centerburg, where the services will follow at 11 a.m. The Rev. Vicki Kelly will officiate. Interment in Eastview Cemetery.
