MOUNT VERNON — Florence Louise Hopwood, 87, of Mount Vernon, died Friday, April 8, 2011, at the Country Court Nursing Centerin Mount Vernon.

Florence was born March 24, 1924, in Fredericktown to Arthur and Bertha (Snyder) Lifer and had spent her lifetime in Knox County.

Florence is survived by her brother, Andrew Lifer of Mount Vernon; a brother-in-law, Harold “Buss” Brubaker of Mount Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Jack Hopwood; sisters, Elsie Noll, Evelyn Deckert, Helen Brubaker and Mildred Beaver; and brothers, Fred Lifer and Raymond Lifer.

Funeral service will be Monday, April 11, at 11 a.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour before the funeral service. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
