MOUNT VERNON — Maxine Ruth Frost, 78, of Mount Vernon, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2011, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
She was born May 26, 1932, in Mount Vernon to the late Roy Canfield Laymon and Delta Mae (Clements) Laymon. Mrs. Frost worked as an audio visual aid for Mount Vernon City Schools from 1968 to 1980, and retired in 1993 after 13 years of employment as an Employment Services Interviewer with the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services. Mrs. Frost was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Mount Vernon.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Norland “Pete” Frost; a son, Daniel (Carmen ) Frost of Sunbury; two daughters, Darla (Doug) Smalley of Westerville and Deborah ( Michael) Cook of Marion; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her brother, John Robert (Margaret) Laymon of Henderson, Nev.; and her sister, Phyllis Mae Snow of Mount Vernon.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Owen Laymon, Kenneth Laymon and George Wayne Laymon; and a sister, Norma Jean Bevington.
A funeral service, giving glory to God for the life of Maxine Frost, will be held Monday, April 11, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 303 South Edgewood, Mount Vernon. Friends may call at the church two hours before the funeral service.
