MOUNT VERNON — Marilyn M. Lang, 80, of Coshocton Road, Mount Vernon, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, April 9, 2011, at the Knox Community Hospital.

She was born Aug. 17, 1930, in Morgan County, Ohio, to the late James and Bertha (Cain) Scott. Marilyn was a member of the Bell Church of Christ, the AMVETS Auxiliary, and the Ladies of the Moose Lodge 824.

She is survived by two sons, Charles (Natalie) Lang of Mount Vernon, Glen (Kim) Lang of Alabama; two daughters, Sandra Sapp of Mount Vernon, Dixie (Dewayne) Schneider of Shelby; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Olas Scott of Columbus; and six sisters, Pansy Pickenpaugh of Newark, Evelyn Scott of Newark, Helen Daughtery of Reno, Nev., Geraldine (Keith) Walrath of St. Louisville, Janet Samberson of St. Louisville and Linda (John) Arms of Oakwood.

Besides her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Rine; a brother, James Scott Jr., and a sister, Hattie Waite.

There will be no calling hours. The family will observe a graveside service in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens at a later date. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home is honored to have been chosen to serve the family of Marilyn M. Lang.
