BUTLER — Steve Meeks, 69, died April 10, 2011, in Knox Community Hospital,.
Born March 11, 1942, near Butler, Steve graduated from Butler High School and remained a lifelong Butler resident. He worked as a mechanic and later in the parts department with Weekley Chrysler Dodge Jeep for 35 years.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn (Grant) Meeks; their children, Tina Thompson, Bill Meeks and Anita Schuller; five grandchildren; brothers, sisters, Gary Meeks, Dave Meeks, Rodney Meeks, Elaine Chillemi, Nina Schmidt and Rusty Meeks; numerous nieces, nephews and aunts.
Predeceased are his parents, Marvin and Wilma (Oswalt) Meeks; a brother, Gerald “Bezzy” Meeks; a nephew, Robbie Meeks; and best friend, Bill Conrad.
The Meeks family will receive friends Thursday, 3 to 7 p.m., in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, where funeral service will be Friday at 11 a.m. Pastor Ken Kinley officiating. Burial in Bunkerhill Cemetery.
