MOUNT VERNON — Charles Richard Bowsher, 83, of Mount Vernon, died Friday, April 15, 2011, at Knox Community Hospital.
He was born Oct. 11, 1927, in Columbus, son of the late Charles O. and Irma E. (Wiggins) Bowsher. Richard worked in the maintenance department at the former PPG plant in Mount Vernon. He served in the Navy for two years and then served four years with the Army.
Richard is survived by a son, Thomas (Ann) Roberts of Mount Vernon; a grandson, Craig Lemon; granddaughter, Denise Lemon; great-grandson, Brandon; great-granddaughters, Aurora, Kylie and Quinn; and a sister, Irma Umbaugh of Mount Vernon.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanore L. (Lemon) Bowsher; and a sister, Jean Smallwood.
In following with Richard’s wish, there will not be any services and he will be cremated.
