MOUNT VERNON — Virginia May (Perry) Walker, 90, of Mount Vernon, died Saturday, April 16, 2011, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon.

She was born Jan. 20, 1921, in Dayton, the daughter of William N. and Nellie (Ingraham) Perry. Virginia was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Tavares, Fla., and the Gay Street United Methodist Church in Mount Vernon. She had been a member of the Johnstown Chapter 242 of the OES and was currently a member of Knox Chapter 236. Virginia had been an employee of Delco Products and Dayton Malleable Iron Co., both in Dayton; and in Florida was employed by Pratt and Whitney Aircraft and Palm Beach County purchasing department.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Hildreth D. Walker, in 1993.

Memorial service, with special recognition by the Order of Eastern Star, will be held Friday, April 22, at 11 a.m. at the Gay Street United Methodist Church, 18 N. Gay St., Mount Vernon, with the Rev. Denise Marikis officiating.

In lieu of flowers, Virginia asked that donations be made to the Gay Street United Methodist Church.

The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Virginia May Walker.
